RoHS-Amendment (Deca-BDE)

On July 1st, 2008 the European Court of Justice declared the annulment of the exemption of DecaBDE in polymers (exemption clause #9.a to the RoHS Directive (DIRECTIVE 2002/95/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 January 2003 on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment).

PFOS

On June 27th, 2008 the European Court of Justice declared the PFOS directive (Directive 2006/122/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of 12 December 2006 relating to the restriction on the marketing and use of certain hazardous substances and preparations (perfluorooctane sulfonates)).

This directive states that from June 2008 on, all products must be free of perfluorooctane sulfonates (PFOS), i.e. the concentration of PFOS must not exceed 0.1% by mass.
